Motorcycles have long been used as a popular means of general transportation as well as for recreational use. As with any vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine, proper lubrication is essential to insure performance and longevity. It is important to point out that not all internal combustion engines are similarly designed or exposed to the same types of operation. These variations in design and operation place different demands on engine oils. Specifically, the demands placed on motorcycle engine oils are more severe than those placed on automotive engine oils. DOMINATOR Synthetic 2-Cycle Racing Injector or Pre-Mix Oil (TDR) -- DOMINATOR®, an AMSOIL exclusive formulation, lubricates and protects high-performance two-cycle motors, both on and off the track. High-performance motors, particularly those that are modified, operate hotter and at higher RPM than recreational motors, and they need good oil for peak performance. DOMINATOR is engineered for racing. It has the right film strength and clean-burning properties for “on the edge” operation. Super Film Strength High-performance two-cycle motors have high compression ratios, which significantly increases combustion chamber heat and crankshaft bearing pressures. Hot combustion processes quickly burn off and evaporate light oils and cause rapid piston expansion, decreasing piston-to-cylinder wall clearances. This promotes piston scuffing and possible seizure, and increased pressure on crankshaft bearings promotes metal-to-metal contact, wear and pitting. DOMINATOR® is recommended for use in high-performance stock or modified two-cycle motors, including air- or liquid-cooled snowmobiles, personal watercraft, motorcycles (Moto X), ATVs, go-carts and outboard motors (see notes). Good for use with coated or non-coated pistons, high-octane racing fuels and exhaust power valves. Compatible with most other two-cycle oils, however, mixing oils should be minimized.

AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil (FOG) -- Two- and four-stroke recreational vehicles, hand-held power equipment, small engines, construction and farm equipment are commonly operated seasonally or infrequently, then stored for long periods of time. During these periods of inactivity, and as a result of fluctuations in ambient temperatures, water vapor can form condensate within the engine. When this condensate comes into direct contact with steel and iron components, it forms surface corrosion on cylinder liners, piston rings, anti-friction bearings and steel/iron contact surfaces on rotational seals. Long periods of storage can also dry out cylinders, often resulting in permanent damage when the equipment is taken out of storage and dry started.
